Emma and Whittney have been sharing their Abundant Acres share for 5 years now. They are still friends!
It has been a blessed week! The weather is great for growing food, the Isleville market is growing in popularity, the raspberries and blueberries are starting to ripen, and the farm crew got to walk on the bottom of the ocean to experience a fishing weir in action. At the weir, a group of girls from all over Nova Scotia were there to learn about sea creatures. They got to see inspiring women marine scientists, and Erica, a fast and strong woman entrepreneur who runs the weir.
Here are some photos from the past week:

Sarah picks up shares and brings them to her café The Rose and Rooster in Grand Desert on the Eastern Shore. More shares are available for anyone who is interested

Denise runs a successful flower farm business, Barefoot Blooms, on the Hants Shore

Maggie the beloved farm cat got in a fight with a racoon and had to go on antibiotics. She’s recovering nicely now.

We like everyone working on the farm to eat well!

At the end of the weir visit, David cooked up a feed of the best fresh calamari (squid). Thanks Erica!
